How we check blackjack apps: the method, the rules and the sources

Four blackjack checks, applied the same way to all ten operators, using only what each operator, each app store and the Gambling Commission publish. Here is every rule, every source, every gap and how the order is set.

What we compare, and how

We compare published facts. For each of the ten operators we read its terms, its banking and safer gambling pages, its App Store and Google Play listings and its entry on the Gambling Commission's public register, then line the figures up against four fixed checks. We do not install the apps, open accounts, deposit, play or withdraw.

Nothing on this site comes from a session we played. There are no timed withdrawals, no notes on how a table felt, and no screenshots of games. Each figure is a value an operator or an app store publishes about itself, copied with the date it was read.

Why work this way? Because the published terms are what binds the operator. A payout time an operator lists is a promise you can hold it to; one person's withdrawal on one Tuesday tells you little about the next. Published figures are also checkable: you can open the same page and see the same number, which is the point of printing a date next to it.

The limit is obvious, and we say so on every list: these pages show what is promised, and a particular session can turn out differently. Busy tables, slow verification and app crashes do not show up in a terms page.

The four checks on every listing

Every listing shows which of four blackjack checks the operator meets. The checks are facts you can compare; they are not what sets the order on the blackjack apps list.

  • Live tables. The operator lists 50 or more live blackjack tables. A missing count does not meet the check.
  • Stake per hand. The lowest listed blackjack minimum, RNG or live, is £0.50 or less.
  • Offer weighting. Blackjack counts above 0% towards the welcome offer's wagering.
  • Both apps. There is an iPhone app on the App Store and an Android app on Google Play.

On 26 October 2026 the checks stood at 3 of 4: Midnite, BetMGM, Ladbrokes, Coral, 10Bet, LeoVegas and bet365; 2 of 4: 247Bet, Betfred and Grosvenor.

The offer check is the one to look at before you choose an app for its welcome deal. Only LeoVegas counts blackjack towards the offer; at the others blackjack counts 0% or the offer is for named slots.

Why these four and not, say, payout speed? They are the questions a blackjack player on a phone asks first, and each has a clear yes or no in published data. Withdrawal times, payment methods and limit tools are shown in full in the comparison next to them.

Where each figure comes from

Four kinds of source, each read directly: operator pages, app store listings, the Gambling Commission and the support organisations whose rules we quote.

  • Operator pages. Welcome offer terms, game weighting tables, banking pages, safer gambling pages and footers. These give stakes, table counts, payment methods, payout times and limit tools.
  • App stores. The App Store and Google Play listings give whether an app exists for each platform and the rating shown on the day we read it. A rating describes how users rate the app, not whether its games are fair.
  • The Gambling Commission. The public register confirms each licence, the account number and the licensed company. Its guidance and technical standards are the source for anything we say about the rules, such as age checks, deposit limits and game testing.
  • Support organisations. GAMSTOP and GambleAware for how self-exclusion and support work, quoted from their own pages.

We never quote another comparison site as a source, and we do not take figures from operator advertising, only from the terms behind it. Every page ends with its sources, grouped by publisher.

Gaps, odd values and "not confirmed"

If we cannot trace a figure to a dated source, the cell reads not confirmed. That means the information is missing from what we read, not that the app lacks the feature.

Gaps are common. LeoVegas lists 200+ live tables overall, but its live blackjack count is not confirmed. BetMGM lists loss, stake and session limits, but its deposit limit is not in our data, and its RNG blackjack minimum is not confirmed. 10Bet does not state the minimum deposit for its welcome offer. Ladbrokes gives a £1 minimum for live blackjack but no maximum. Ladbrokes and Coral take Apple Pay deposits without a stated processing time. Each of those reads not confirmed or not stated wherever it appears.

Some values are present but implausible. One operator lists a £0.01 blackjack minimum, a figure that belongs to slots, so we use its live table minimum of £0.50 instead and say so. Two others give their Apple Pay deposit time as 1 to 3 days, the same as their withdrawal time, so we print that deposit time as not stated rather than repeat a figure that looks copied. Where two pages of the same operator disagree, we print the one in the terms and leave the other out.

Counts such as "70+ tables" are floors published by the operator. We print them as given and never round them up into a precise number.

Reading a gapA cell that reads not confirmed is a gap in the published record. Ask the operator before relying on that feature.

Dates and how often we re-check

Every figure carries the date it was read; the current set is from 26 October 2026. We re-check the whole set at least monthly, and sooner when an operator changes its offer or its app.

The date sits next to the figures on every page and in the sources list at the end. When a re-check changes a value, the new value replaces the old one and the date moves with it. We do not keep two dates on one page.

A month is long enough for some things to change. Welcome offers in particular can be replaced overnight, so read the operator's own terms before you register; the short terms under each listing link to them.

How the site is paid for, and how the order is set

Through affiliate links. If you register with an operator after following one of our links, the operator pays us a commission. The order of the list is our editorial choice, and our commercial agreements with operators are part of it.

So an operator's place in the list is not a score. It reflects our view of the app for blackjack and the agreement we have with that operator, and an operator can sit higher because of that agreement. The figures themselves are never changed for a commercial reason: every number on a listing is read from the operator's own terms, the app stores or the register, the same way for every operator. The commission does not change the terms of your own account.

Only operators licensed by the Gambling Commission appear, and we do not compare every licensed operator in the market. The links to operators carry sponsored and nofollow attributes so search engines can see what they are. More about who runs the site is on the about page.

What we deliberately leave out

No star ratings, no overall casino scores, no game screenshots, no demo games and no claims about winning.

One number out of ten would hide the trade-offs that matter: an app with the most live tables may also have the highest minimum stake. We would rather show both values and let you weigh them.

We also leave out basic strategy charts and anything that suggests blackjack can be beaten. Correct play narrows the house edge; it does not remove it. For how game fairness is regulated, see the fairness section on the home page, and for checking an operator yourself, the licence check guide.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or out of date, write to [email protected] with the page and, if you can, a link to the operator page that shows the right value.

We check every report against the operator's own pages. If the report is right, the figure is corrected and the date updated in the same update. We do not publish a list of past corrections; the current date on each figure always shows when it was last read. The contact page has a postal address as well.

Questions about our method

Short answers on where the figures come from and how the order is set.

Do you test the apps yourselves?

No. We do not install the apps, deposit, play or withdraw. We read each operator's terms, payment and safer gambling pages, the app-store listings and the Gambling Commission register, and compare what they state on fixed criteria.

How is the order of the ten apps decided?

It is our editorial choice. It takes our view of each app for blackjack into account together with our commercial agreements with the operators, so it is not a score. The four checks on each listing are shown so you can compare the apps on the facts yourself.

Do affiliate links change the order?

They can. We earn a commission when a reader registers through one of our links, and those agreements are part of how the order is set. They never change the figures we print, which come from the operators' own terms, the app stores and the register.

What does not confirmed mean?

It means the figure was missing, unclear or contradictory in what we read. It does not mean the app lacks the feature. We print the gap instead of guessing.

How often are the figures checked?

At least once a month, and every figure on the site carries the date it was last checked.
